The Associated General Contractors of America has judged St. Louis’ Paric as having the best worker safety program and record among all contractors of similar size in the nation.
The first place “Construction Safety Excellence Award” recognition comes after the national group reviewed safety programs of their more than 33,000 member companies.
Paric is the only Missouri-based company, and one of only two Midwest-based companies, recognized for this award by the Associated General Contractors this year.
Paric President and CEO Joe McKee says “Safety is absolutely the most important element of what each of us do every day. We understand that people – whether it be our employees, sub-contractors, partners or clients – are the lifeblood of our organization, and we take our responsibility to them just that seriously.”
“While Paric’s safety procedures and processes give us the framework for success, it’s the commitment of our Paric employees, subs and partners to execute our safety program every single day that makes it a true success, and we couldn’t be more proud of their dedication,” McKee says.
McKee recognized safety director Shannon Niles as playing key roles in the continuing improvement and meticulous management of the worker safety program.
Award winners are selected by a judging panel of five independent safety professionals within the construction, government, corporate and insurance industries.
The award is based on the development and implementation of premier safety and loss prevention programs. The top firms also demonstrated outstanding leadership in safety and occupation health management, risk control, safety training, work-site hazard identification and control plus safety program innovation.
“For the construction industry, protecting employees is a top priority,” said Ted Aadland, the association’s past president and the CEO of Portland, Oregon-based Aadland Evans Constructors, Inc. “Completed projects don’t mean anything if worker safety is compromised.”
Paric is a strong regional contractor specializing in agency and at-risk construction management, design/build and general construction of interiors, public, institutional and hospitality facilities, residential projects, senior living and healthcare facilities, historic renovation and commercial projects.
