EXPERTISE IN ACTION:
Green Retrofitting: Saving Energy, Cutting Costs
Posted on
February 25, 2010
Cost savings are on everyone’s mind, particularly during a tight economy … and
Paric is recommending energy efficient updates to many building owners.
Why Retrofit?
Cutting Costs. Of course there’s an initial investment – but when considering long-term cost effectiveness, a well-planned and solidly executed green building retrofit has the potential to pay for itself – with continuing savings – by reducing energy use.
Financing Availability. While lending might be tight on the whole, projects that involve green retrofitting and energy efficiency may find multiple avenues for financing despite the credit crunch – including stimulus dollars and other “green financing” initiatives.
Environmental Responsibility. In the interest of minimizing environmental impact – and in advance of government environmental regulations that may come – green retrofitting is a sound investment in both the good of the environment and in being on the front edge of what may eventually be mandated on a broad scope.
