Liftoff for the Moonrise Hotel

Posted on April 20, 2009

The smoke has cleared and the doors have officially opened to the new hotel on the Delmar Loop in St. Louis.

Owner Joe Edwards dressed for the occasion, donning an astronaut suit to the grand opening of the Moonrise Hotel Thursday.

The luxury boutique hotel has hundreds of pieces of moon memorabilia inside from Edwards' personal collection, and a rotating replica moon on the outside.

A bold combination of contemporary design, luxury amenities, well-appointed rooms and suites and ample meeting space, the Moonrise Hotel boldly goes where no St. Louis hotel has gone before. From the ever-changing colors of the iridescent lobby wall and open staircase to the brilliantly lit bar at Eclipse Restaurant, there’s much to marvel without ever leaving the hotel.

The hotel sits between the Pageant Theater and Pin-Up Bowl.

City leaders said it's sure to bring more tourists to St. Louis.

Paric is the builder for the new seven story, 124 room boutique hotel.
