Two St. Louis companies – Paric and the Lawrence Group – have been recognized for their roles in creating the North American winner in the “Best Large Continuing Care Retirement Community” category in this year’s “Best of 50+ Housing Awards,” presented by the National Association of Home Builders’ 50+ Housing Council.
The winning project, the Stratford at WestClay in Carmel, Ind. was developed and is owned by The Stratford Companies. The project was recognized with a Silver Award.
Paric Corporation served as construction managers and the Lawrence Group of St. Louis provided architectural and interior design services.
Located within Carmel’s Village of WestClay, the project encompasses a $42 million, 337,000-square-foot community providing a continuum of care for independent living, assisted living and memory support. The Stratford at WestClay includes 132 apartment homes and 38 detached bungalows. An additional 43 apartment homes are dedicated to assisted living and memory support in the Healthcare wing. On-site amenities include a theatre, indoor pool, library, salon, spa and a full dining and kitchen facility.
“As one of the first developments of its kind in the Midwest, we believe The Stratford at WestClay provides the perfect home to those wishing to continue their vibrant, active lifestyle,” said Wendy Horn, Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer for The Stratford Companies.
“This year’s winners incorporated a high level of quality and lifestyle specific amenities to their projects,” said Pat Kelley, a St. Louis builder and 2009 chair of NAHB’s 50+ Housing Council. “Buyers and residents in this economic climate need to feel that their home purchase is going to provide exactly what will make their lives easy and satisfying. This year’s entrants stepped up to the plate and supplied competitive and attractive projects for the 50+ market,” Kelley said.
