Paric completed the Barnes Jewish Hospital third floor, southwest tower 800 sq.ft. “hybrid operating room” which combines two standard operating rooms, equipment and control room. The new “hybrid operating room” enhances the vascular surgery capability through improved imaging. Additionally, Cardiothoracic surgery will be participating in a Partner Trial which will develop new methods for placing aortic trans-catheter valves. This new operating room allows cardiovascular surgeons and interventionists to work side-by-side. It is outfitted with a fixed fluoroscopy, an imaging device that provides real-time, moving radiology images.
Finishes include new sheet vinyl floor, epoxy paint walls, PVC wall protection sheet provided to 4.5 feet above finish floor. Operating room grade gasket acoustical ceiling.
In addition, existing air distribution is redistributed to service new room layout. A new supplemental low temperature air system provides the ability to take this operating room down to 62°F to 65°F range and maintain acceptable humidity levels. A temperature/humidity control system is included to manage humidification ranges to maintain comfort levels, conserve energy and prevent surface condensation when operating at the extreme ranges of temperature. This room employs the use of HEPA filter diffusers and mixed low and ceiling return air in lieu of low return only
