PARIC Corporation, a regional construction manager, was the proud recipient of a 2012 RCGA St. Louis Green Business Challenge Award. Paric’s Green Business Challenge Team was able to show the greatest gain of the 84 participating companies and had the highest overall score.
PARIC Corporation joined the competition in March and began working to implement a variety of programs to increase the company score. Programs implemented included an increased focus on recycling by introducing single stream recycling to the majority of its job sites and holding an electronic recycling drive over the summer months. Thanks to these recycling programs, Paric recycled more than 50,000 pounds during the competition.
Additional efforts included a composting program and various company events such as the “Plant My Cube” event which was designed to improve indoor air quality. The entire program resulted in a final score of 240 points for Paric which secured the award for greatest gain.
