PARIC was the contractor for the $14 million redevelopment of the Elias Haas Building, creating 100 loft-apartments. The six-story, 97,325 sq.ft. building also includes 10,000 sq.ft of retail. From its construction in 1914, the Elias Haas Building was associated with two of the city’s prominent industries – garments and cars. The building meets the registration requirements of the “Historic Auto-Related Resources of St. Louis” Multiple Property Submission.

PARIC has brought the design/build team together with the owner’s architect and engineers to maximize leasable space within the existing structure. Along with the Building Department and Fire Marshall, the design team has created a unique corridor pressurization that allows safe evacuation of the residential units at the dead end corridor. The combination of masonry, terra cotta, stucco and marble exterior façade create a standout building along a street with many fine historic renovations. Interior finishes include ‘lofty’ – exposed glazed brick and concrete columns and ceilings, refurbished wood flooring, new drywall partitions, casework, and millwork.
