Formed in 1939, Ninnescah Rural Electric Cooperative serves over 4,000 meters in ten counties in south central Kansas. The current facilities have served NREC for over 60 years and growing concerns of space, security, and safety have become critical to the success of Ninnescah Rural Electric Cooperative.
Ninnescah Rural Electric Cooperative has retained the services of Cooperative Building Solutions to design and build their new headquarters building located in Pratt, KS.
The facility includes 28,900 square feet of office, vehicle storage, and warehouse space on 10 acres. The building will include energy efficient designs including geothermal heating and cooling systems, LED lights, radiant floor heating systems, and much more. The office consists of a structural steel frame and brick façade, while the warehouse portion will be supported by pre-engineered metal building design. Construction started on this project in March of 2016 and is expected to be completed in January of 2017.
