Position Description

The Finance Director reports directly to the V.P. Accounting & Finance and will be responsible for influencing strategy  through data driven analysis, creating and driving effective and efficient processes, and overseeing execution against company objectives and goals.  This individual will lead the development of the strategic plan, annual budget, and monthly forecast, including variance analysis, identifying opportunities and risks, and communicating to Sr. Leadership and Department Leaders.   Additional responsibilities include oversight of the financial reporting software (FMW) and business intelligence software (CMiC) to include maintenance, updates, and report development.  The Finance Director supervises three analysts and is responsible for managing the team to ensure work is properly allocated and completed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required – CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred

 Years of Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience (FP&A, business support, process improvement, ERP systems)
  • 5+ years in a supervisory role


  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work across multiple departments to complete a project or resolve an organizational challenge
  • Ability to apply background and experiences to new situations to implement change
  • Data driven; leverages analytics, benchmarking, and insights to generate meaningful financial strategies and solutions
  • A ‘hands on’ individual who is able to prioritize, work to tight deadlines, display a sense of urgency, as well as be detail orientated
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and a very dynamic business environment
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to relate to all levels of an organization, including senior management
  • Proven experience learning and utilizing multiple ERP systems with an advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel (VBA included), SQL, and Business Intelligence software

Position Duties/Tasks

  • Oversee the annual budgeting and planning process; understand and communicate key performance drivers and assumptions to senior leadership, highlighting opportunities and risks
  • Lead the monthly P&L forecast process, including Margin, Overhead and Operational Support; facilitate monthly reviews with department leads and sales team to drive accountability
  • Assist in the development of the Strategic Plan, aligning long-term corporate goals with financial targets
  • Oversee the financial management reporting system (FMW); maintain data accuracy, implement improvements, develop reports, and act as the point person for questions and ad-hoc requests
  • Work cross-functionally (Operations, Sales, Estimating, Marketing, VDC, IT) to provide financial oversight and identify potential cost savings/margin enhancement opportunities
  • Initiate and implement financial modeling and analysis projects related to operational and strategic initiatives and activities
  • Evaluate current processes, identify best practices, develop plans, and implement process improvements to reduce time, improve accuracy, and generate cost savings within the accounting and finance groups
  • Leverage expertise to determine best approach to organize and extract data from the current ERP system utilizing business intelligence platform to create value-add reports and analysis for senior leadership and department leaders
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and requests as required
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., although hours may vary from time to time in order to support specific needs.
