Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounting and FP&A, this position is responsible for complete oversight and administration of the payroll function, including union and non-union payrolls.  This position ensures that all employees are paid timely, accurately, and in compliance with company policies and applicable state, federal, and union regulations.  The Payroll Manager incorporates procedural changes when necessary while implementing best practices and assisting in the development and maintenance of payroll controls to support the accuracy and integrity of the payroll information. The position supervises a part-time payroll clerk.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting

Years of Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of payroll experience administering both union and non-union payroll
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience

Position Duties/Tasks

  • Complete the processing of semi-monthly salaried payroll and oversee the processing of weekly union payroll
  • Prepare and file all applicable union reports and federal, state, and local tax returns, making timely payments
  • Prepare and review certified payroll reports, when applicable
  • Maintain employee files as required working directly with HR; electronic and hard copy
  • Prepare W-2 and 1095 forms at year-end, including electronic filing with IRS
  • Complete system testing as required to ensure compliance and accuracy of payroll data
  • Remain current on new legislation and regulatory rulings impacting payroll; advise management on required actions
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement measures, leading to decreased processing times
  • Complete month-end general ledger reconciliations for all payroll related accounts
  • Partner with Operations, HR, Accounting and other departments as required
  • Other duties as assigned
