Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for supporting multiple accounting activities including the monthly close, general ledger preparation and analysis, cash management, year-end audit preparation, and tax preparation.  This position will also be part of the team that develops and maintains the company’s internal control framework, including the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements are developed on a monthly basis.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA and/or MBA attained or in progress

Years of Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of accounting experience
  • Experience in the construction industry preferred
  • Public accounting experience is a plus

Position Duties/Tasks

  • Compile, review and analyze financial information to support the monthly close process and the development of timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Monitor month-end close checklist and ensure all activities are completed timely and accurately.
  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Work closely with intercompany partners to ensure accounts reconcile monthly.
  • Assist with monthly financial statement analysis and explanation of variances to forecast and plan.
  • Respond to management inquiries regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
  • Monitor fixed asset management processes.
  • Review daily cash reporting and ensure all cash transactions are processed timely and accurately.
  • Work with the Sr. Accounting Manager to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
  • Support the preparation of both state and federal annual tax filings.
  • Consistently challenge current processes to drive efficiencies and strengthen internal controls.
