Groups of PARIC people showed up on a hot, Saturday morning to take part in the 4th Annual Clean Sweep. A group took to the streets, removed trash, downed limbs, and debris and removed garages that had become too damaged to repair. Another group gathered at the Sankofa Unity Center to throw a block party for the community. Families with kids showed up for basketball, lunch, and other outdoor games.
The Sankofa Organization & Unity Center does work in the Walnut Park community to help turn lives around and prevent kids from going down the wrong path. PARIC has worked with Sankofa in the past to help repair a church, which is now the Unity Center and is committed to walking alongside this organization as it grows.
Thank you to all of those who gave up their Saturday morning to help make a difference in our community. A special thank you to Bill Lowery, Mike Boschert, and Alicia Kuester for their efforts to pull off a great event! We saw our people living our values in action. It was a proud day to wear the PARIC mark.
