This 45,000 sq. ft. building houses county administrative offices. The office center and a second project—a new courthouse—are designed to mirror each other and to maintain a focus on the existing historic courthouse, creating a unified county complex.
The Administrative Office Center contains commissioners’ chambers; offices for the county clerk, assessors, collectors, recorder of deeds, planning and zoning and building department; and other non-judicial county offices. It is a two-and-one-half story building with a simple, clear circulation pattern facilitating easy way finding. The building has been designed to accommodate future expansion without interrupting operations. Exterior detailing is designed to break the building scale down into smaller storefronts, which helps the new structure blend more seamlessly into surrounding architecture.
