With three cranes in the air, phase two of Ballpark Village is progressing into a long-awaited reality. The 700,000 sq. ft. project is currently on schedule after breaking ground almost a year ago.
The Business Journal had the opportunity to tour the construction site and see the progress first-hand. Phase two of construction includes a 10-story Class A office building, the 29-story, 297-unit One Cardinal Way apartment tower, and a Live! By Loews hotel with 75,000 sq. ft. of retail space.
PARIC’s Vice President, Paul Giacoletto, said that the office building is almost halfway complete, the hotel is about one-third complete, and One Cardinal Way is about 20 percent complete.
The 125,000 sq. ft. office building will open in August 2019 and is expected to have five tenants. The $65 million Live! by Lowes hotel will open the first quarter of 2020, and One Cardinal Way is on schedule to open the summer of 2020.
The second phase of Ballpark Village is estimated to create 1,500 construction jobs and over 1,000 permanent new local jobs.
