VP of Technology to present at Estimator Academy

Feb 4, 2019

Andy Leek, Vice President of Technology and Innovation is scheduled to present at the 2019 Kansas City Construction Estimating Academy on February 8, 2019. The event is sponsored by the American Society of Professional Estimators Chapter 32.

Leek will be presenting a course entitled “Maximizing the Value of Technology and Data for Preconstruction and Beyond.” The Academy will host 300-400 estimators and project managers from across the region at the Olathe Conference Center in Olathe, Kansas. The Academy hosts a variety of speakers leading courses that address topics ranging from bid day simulations, to take off and estimating classes.

Leek’s course will begin at 10:30am. Below is an overview of the topics he will cover:

Today we have more data than ever.  Using advanced technologies that convert data into usable information enable us to maximize the value of BIM and reality capture data to develop more informed build strategies, schedules, and result in better developed estimates throughout the preconstruction and build process.  PARIC, a midwest-based builder, leverages various technologies at the very start of our commercial projects to better understand the complex buildings systems, and range of site challenges to help us deliver value and build experiences that enrich the preconstruction and construction phases.  In this course we will demonstrate the use of a cloud-based and highly integrated technology ecosystem, and provide real world examples of using advanced estimating assemblies and prescriptive estimating practices to develop better estimates, schedules, and build plan strategies to win more work, and complete better projects.  We will provide examples and best practices on how to navigate the iterative design/build process, and share insights on when and where it is best to leverage content, and how best to communicate and share that information with extended project teams.  We will also share some brief case studies, that showcase some of our experiences, and lessons learned.  Conceptually we strive to paint a picture of the overall process and the integrated approach that PARIC utilizes to provide value and best in class design/build experiences.
