Women in Construction Week 2019

May 1, 2019

This year PARIC wanted to help shine a light on the fantastic work being done across the country by women in the trades. Rather than highlight specific employees, we decided to open up the conversation on our social media channels. To help engage the audience, we offered $50 for every post, share, comment, or like across our platforms.

We asked our followers to post their job title and how long they had been in the industry. PARIC’s goal was to show how many women work in trades as well as inspire younger generations to pursue construction as a career.

The response we received surpassed our expectations with over 100 women across the country sharing their stories. Once the week ended, we tallied our responses and were thrilled to be able to surprise our local NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) Chapter #38 with a $5,000 check.

According to their website, their “core purpose is to enhance the success of women in the construction industry. We do this by offering our members opportunities for professional development, education, networking, leadership training, public service, and more.”
