PARIC’s Construction Management Internship is a competitive, hands-on opportunity designed to give students meaningful exposure to the full lifecycle of commercial construction projects. Interns are assigned to an active jobsite and work closely with Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Superintendents to support real project work from day one.

Throughout the summer, interns will gain firsthand experience in planning, execution, coordination, and problem-solving on live construction projects, building technical knowledge, leadership capability, and a strong foundation for a future career in Construction or Project Management.

Responsibilities

Intern responsibilities vary based on education level, skill set, and project needs, and may include:

  • Supporting Project Managers and Superintendents with general contract and subcontract administration
  • Assisting with construction scheduling, work planning, and sequencing
  • Coordinating material and equipment procurement, deliveries, and expediting
  • Supporting shop drawing and submittal review, tracking, and document control
  • Assisting with mechanical, electrical, and piping system coordination
  • Participating in and documenting project coordination meetings
  • Supporting cost tracking, change management, and billing documentation
  • Assisting with as-built drawings and project closeout documentation
  • Monitoring quality control efforts in both field and shop environments
  • Participating in jobsite safety walks and inspections, supporting PARIC’s commitment to a safe and productive work environment
  • Researching and recommending construction means, methods, and equipment
  • Supporting communication with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams
  • Gaining hands-on exposure to construction procedures, specifications, and project controls
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interest in building a career in Construction or Project Management and meet the following criteria:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, take initiative, and work in a fast-paced project environment
  • Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and eagerness to learn
  • Interest in developing technical, leadership, and project management capabilities
  • Willingness to commute and/or relocate for the duration of the internship
