Formerly a train manufacturing and testing facility, the 36,800-sq.ft. building in St. Charles was once part of the American Car and Foundry. This project required the conversion of an old rail car testing facility to more than 5,000-sq.ft. of Smithsonian Gallery-caliber exhibition space which includes: art exhibits, artist workspaces, catered events for up to 400 people, children’s interactive art experiences, private and public meetings and events, and musical events.

The facility includes administrative offices, record storage, judges chambers, city clerk offices, collector, auditor, payroll, technology center, meeting/conference space, police command center, training facilities, vehicle maintenance area, evidence and property storage, and municipal jail.
