MEP Senior Project Manager

Location: St. Louis–based with local project travel or full-time traveler

 

Position Description:

The Senior MEP Manager is a senior project leadership role responsible for providing technical oversight and guidance to project teams in the planning and delivery of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and utility systems on complex industrial projects where reliability, schedule performance, and technical quality are critical. This role supports industrial projects across the mission-critical, food & beverage, and manufacturing markets. The Senior MEP Manager assists project teams in identifying, understanding, and managing the risk profile associated with MEP systems from early planning through commissioning, helping ensure systems are well-coordinated, properly sequenced, and delivered in alignment with project requirements.

Beyond project execution, this role serves as a technical resource for the organization. Coaching, mentoring, and educating project teams is an inherent responsibility, strengthening technical capability, improving risk awareness, and supporting consistent delivery of dependable, high-quality MEP systems.

This is a technical leadership role focused on collaboration and guidance. The Senior MEP Manager supports teams in proactively addressing risks, resolving technical challenges, and delivering complete, functional building systems.

 

Responsibilities

MEP Technical Leadership

  • Lead project teams in technical planning and execution of all MEP systems including process utilities, power distribution, controls, life safety, HVAC, plumbing, and specialty systems.
  • Translate design intent into executable field strategy aligned with schedule and operational constraints.
  • Identify system risks early (capacity, redundancy, sequencing, integration, commissioning).
  • Drive resolution of design gaps, constructability issues, and performance risks.

 

Pursuit, Preconstruction & Execution Planning

  • Develop preliminary MEP execution strategy including constructability, sequencing, system integration, and commissioning philosophy.
  • Evaluate early design for feasibility, system risk, and constructability; identify schedule drivers and long-lead procurement risks.
  • Identify key system and integration risks early (power, controls, process, utilities) and support development of the project risk register.
  • Support technical alignment with major MEP trade partners and contribute to a clear, executable delivery strategy prior to award.

 

Execution & Field Integration

  • Support project teams with the coordination across MEP trades, structural, civil, architectural, and process systems.
  • Help support the development of Project schedules to drive installation from mobilization through to start-up & commissioning.
  • Monitor and provide QA/QC support to field installation to meet quality, code, and performance standards.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts early to protect schedule and downstream system performance.
  • Lead recurring MEP execution and risk coordination meetings as necessary to support project teams.

 

Commissioning & Operational Readiness

  • Help support the development of commissioning programming within organization.
  • Help create project specific commissioning plans with Project teams, incorporating input from owner commissioning agents, vendors, and client operations teams.
  • Provide leadership to project teams to ensure they are properly preparing for commissioning from project onset.
  • Provide troubleshooting support as needed to ensure systems achieve required performance under real operating conditions.

 

Risk Management

  • Help project teams maintain active MEP risk register across design, procurement, sequencing, integration, and performance.
  • Identify cost, schedule, and operational risks early.
  • Drive mitigation before risks impact project outcomes.
  • Support disciplined decision-making based on technical and execution risk.

 

Client & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Serve as primary MEP technical leader with client engineering and operations teams.
  • Clearly communicate system readiness, risks, and execution status.
  • Build trust through technical competence, ownership, and disciplined execution.
  • Support client startup, turnover, and operational reliability goals.
  • Strengthen long-term client confidence in system performance and delivery capability

 

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience in commercial construction
  • Strong knowledge of contract terms, cost management, scheduling, and construction processes
  • Proficiency with project management software and job cost forecasting tools
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities

MEP Senior Superintendent
Location: Full-time travel role supporting projects nationwide.

 

Position Description

At PARIC, we are seeking an experienced MEP Senior Superintendent to lead field execution of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and utility systems on large, complex construction projects. This role is responsible for overall field leadership of MEP scopes, including safety, quality, schedule performance, trade partner coordination, system integration, and team development.

The MEP Senior Superintendent partners closely with Project Management, clients, engineers, commissioning teams, and trade partners to ensure MEP systems are planned, coordinated, installed, tested, and turned over successfully. This individual also plays a critical role in mentoring field teams, proactively managing risk, and driving operational excellence across the project lifecycle.

This role supports complex industrial projects, including manufacturing, food & beverage, and mission-critical facilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day field operations related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, process utilities, and specialty systems from mobilization through closeout
  • Manage and coordinate MEP trade partners while driving accountability for safety, quality, productivity, sequencing, and overall field performance
  • Develop and manage MEP installation sequencing, site logistics, short-term look-ahead schedules, and manpower strategies to maintain workflow and protect critical milestones
  • Partner closely with Project Managers and project leadership on staffing, procurement, schedule development, change management, and field execution strategies that support project profitability
  • Identify and proactively resolve field conflicts, constructability issues, design gaps, trade coordination challenges, and schedule risks before they impact project performance
  • Lead MEP coordination efforts between structural, architectural, civil, process, and equipment systems to ensure complete system integration
  • Lead quality control efforts through daily field oversight, inspections, testing coordination, turnover planning, and enforcement of project specifications and company standards
  • Support preconstruction activities including constructability reviews, bid reviews, logistics planning, procurement strategy, and evaluation of field execution plans
  • Support startup, commissioning, and owner turnover activities to ensure systems are fully functional and operational requirements are met
  • Build strong working relationships with owners, design teams, inspectors, vendors, commissioning agents, and trade partners through clear communication and consistent follow-through
  • Serve as the senior MEP field leader on-site, communicating project updates, escalating critical issues, and driving solutions across all project stakeholders
  • Mentor and develop Field Engineers, Assistant Superintendents, and junior field leaders while building a high-performing team culture aligned with PARIC’s core values and safety standards

Requirements

  • Apprenticeship program, Construction Management degree, Engineering degree, or equivalent field experience
  • 15+ years of commercial, industrial, or large-scale construction experience with significant MEP field leadership responsibilities
  • Proven experience leading MEP installation on large, technically complex projects with multiple trades and integrated systems
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, logistics, commissioning, and MEP building systems
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and coordination models

Role Overview:

PARIC is seeking an experienced Project Executive to lead large-scale industrial projects across mission critical, food & beverage, and manufacturing markets. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, developing high-performing teams, and delivering complex projects safely, profitably, and with exceptional quality.

 

As a Project Executive, you will oversee a portfolio of projects from early pursuit through closeout, partnering closely with preconstruction, business development, and executive leadership. You’ll serve as an executive sponsor for key clients, ensure disciplined project execution, and play a critical role in scaling the Industrial Sector while strengthening PARIC’s brand and client relationships.

 

This role also requires experience operating within active campus environments, where safety, logistics, and ongoing client operations must be balanced with speed-to-market delivery.

 

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Project Execution

  • Lead a portfolio of industrial projects ranging from $10M–$200M+, ensuring performance across safety, quality, schedule, cost, and client satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular job walks and monthly reviews to proactively manage risk, schedule performance, and financial outcomes.
  • Ensure disciplined project reporting and forecasting at both project and sector levels.

 

Strategy & Risk Management

  • Translate sector strategy into actionable execution plans that support growth and repeatable success.
  • Provide operational leadership during pursuits, go/no-go decisions, and proposal development.
  • Champion early risk identification and mitigation throughout the full project lifecycle, from pursuit through turnover.
  • Lead and support subcontract negotiations and ensure contractual obligations are executed in a risk-aware manner.

 

Client & Market Leadership

  • Serve as an executive sponsor for key clients, building long-term relationships and positioning PARIC as a trusted advisor.
  • Deliver projects that create repeat business and “raving fans” through exceptional execution and client-focused problem solving.

 

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Coach, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Superintendents, and Project Executives.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning to align with sector growth and backlog.
  • Conduct staffing alignment, annual reviews, and ongoing one-on-one coaching to develop future leaders.

 

Systems, Processes & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Define and implement scalable operational systems, processes, and standards across the Industrial sector.
  • Partner with preconstruction, estimating, safety, QA/QC, scheduling, and business development teams to deliver a seamless project experience.
  • Collaborate across sectors to share best practices and drive enterprise-wide continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

  • 15+ years of construction experience, including 5+ years in senior operational leadership overseeing large-scale industrial projects.
  • Proven experience in mission critical, food & beverage, or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, risk allocation, and commercial strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, systematize, and scale operational processes.
  • Proven leader with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (MBA or equivalent experience preferred).
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project oversight and client engagement.
